I am going to make my own rail mount for my Hi-Lift, also I will add my recovery board. 2018 Ram Power Wagon with Ram Boxes. Here it is, with instructions and links to hardware below:
Recovery Gear:
Mounting Hardware:
- ⅜ Square Flat Superstrut washer
- ⅜ Nut SuperStrut
- Super Strut Straight Bracket
- $2 (ea) (qty 2)
- ⅜ Zinc Nut, Washer, & Lock Washer set
- ⅜ Zinc Hex Bolt 2.5”
- ⅜ Zinc Hex Bolt 6”
Assembly:
Cut the spring off the superstrut nut
Insert the nut into the rail where you want it (tilt it in)
Place a ⅜ washer inside the rail in front of the nut (without this the bolt may angle down when tightened up)
Place a ⅜ washer onto the 2.5” hex bolt
Put the bolt through the Strut Straight Bracket
Place a ⅜ washer onto the 2.5” hex bolt
Place a ⅜ lock washer onto “”
Thread a ⅜ nut onto “”
Thread another ⅜ nut onto “”
Place a ⅜ lock washer onto “”
Place a ⅜ Strut Square washer onto “” (this ensures the bolt will tighten up square on the rai).
Thread the hex bolt into the strut nut in the rail. (Not all the way, just till it peaks out the nut)
Tighten the first lock nut next to the rail.
Swing the bracket 180 degrees so its straight up (or do this step before you attach to the rail)
Place a ⅜ washer onto the 2.5” hex bolt
Put the bolt through the Strut Straight Bracket in the last hole
Place a ⅜ washer onto the 2.5” hex bolt
Place a ⅜ lock washer onto “”
Thread a ⅜ nut onto “” for a 2.5” bolt
Tighten down
(optional) Repeat above to add a 6” bolt to the #2 hole for your recover board
Swing bracket down into position.
Test fit jack and recover board with bracket locations
Adjust, then tighten every nut down. Should all lock firm in place. No play. Still room to put cargo divider in the last two slots.
